Privacy policy.
Last updated: 5 July 2026. This is a summary - a full UK GDPR privacy notice sits alongside our Managed Services Agreement with each housing association.
Who controls your data
For sensor data generated in a housing association's stock, the housing association is the data controller. TetherHQ Limited (trading as MouldWatch) acts as the data processor under a written Data Processing Agreement that forms part of the Managed Services Agreement.
For website visits and enquiries to mouldwatch.co.uk, TetherHQ Limited is the controller. We use Plausible Analytics (cookieless) to measure traffic. No identifying cookies are placed without consent.
What we collect
- Environmental sensor readings - temperature, relative humidity, sensor metadata, gateway logs. These are tied to a property, not to a named resident.
- Contact-form data - name, email, organisation, role, and message. Used only to respond to your enquiry.
- Website analytics - page view count, referrer, and anonymised device class. No cross-site tracking.
Where your data is processed
The MouldWatch platform - including sensor readings - runs on Amazon Web Services in the Sydney region (Australia). Sensor readings are tied to a property, not a named resident: the platform holds no resident names, dates of birth, or medical information. The personal data it processes is limited to the names and work contact details of the housing-association staff who use it. Transfers outside the UK are protected by the safeguards UK GDPR requires - the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses, incorporated in our processor agreements.
Sub-processors
- Amazon Web Services (platform and sensor-data hosting, Sydney, Australia).
- Netlify, Inc. (website hosting and form handling, US).
- Plausible Insights OÜ (analytics, EU).
- Resend (transactional email, US).
- Quidos Group (field operations, UK).
A full sub-processor list is maintained and provided to each housing association as part of the DPA, which is available on request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. For website enquiries email hello@mouldwatch.co.uk. For sensor data, contact your landlord - the housing association is the controller.
Retention
We retain contact-form data for up to 24 months. Sensor data retention is set by the housing association under the MSA (typically contract term plus 6 years, to cover Housing Ombudsman and disrepair limitation windows).
Complaints
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
